This is the soundtrack to The Kids of Rutherford County, a Serial Productions & New York Times podcast. It's an instrumental album well suited to listening while driving, walking around, cooking, or perhaps working. All of the songs were written and recorded while working on the podcast and most of them can be heard in various forms there underneath award winning journalism, but here they are presented in their naked state. Though this story literally hit very close to home for us, we were asked to explore some wonderfully strange and unfamiliar musical territory on this project. Incidentally we feel the end result is a somewhat novel form of instrumental music. We're still not exactly sure how to describe it. Minimalist synth classical southern brass maximali...no no no we really can't. At any rate we have found the results to be sufficiently interesting and listenable to proudly present them to you here, and we do hope you get a kick out of it.
